With so many options, which is the best blender for protein shakes?
You might be surprised at just how many blender options there are. Ones with and without attachments coming in all shapes and sizes. It’s important to know how you plan on using your blender before making your purchase.

They’re perfect for smaller kitchens or if you’re looking for something to bring to the office. They don’t take up much space and are made to be easily washed.
Personal blenders for protein shakes are a new type of single serve blender that are battery powered and make it even easier to enjoy your favorite mixed drinks on the go.
Single serve and handheld blenders for protein shakes are much lighter on the wallet, and don’t carry all of the extra attachments and functionality that you may not need.
Countertop Blenders for Protein Shakes
Larger countertop blenders are great for people who want the convenience of making multiple servings of their favorite protein shakes at once. Instead of using the blender one or more times a day, they use it one time and store the extra drinks in the fridge to consume over the course of a few days. Some of the larger blenders also come with single serve attachments that make it easy to take your drinks on the go.
While larger blenders are typically more sturdy, the quality and number of extras generally leads to a higher price point. The manufacturers of these blenders have the type of consumers in mind that need to be able to create much more than just mixed drinks.

The Magic Bullet is probably the most popular of all of the single serve blenders for protein shakes. It has been around for a while and are perfect for smoothies and juices. It weighs under five pounds and packs all the power you need if you’re looking to blend ice cubes or pieces of fruit into your protein shakes.

Promixx is a handheld blender for protein shakes that was designed with those who are constantly on the go in mind. This is the perfect choice if you don’t have a lot of counter space. The Promixx is also really easy to clean – simply add water and a drop of dish detergent and mix.
It weighs less than a pound and is powered by two AAA batteries. The Promixx holds 600 ml of liquid. Be careful using ice with the Promixx. It may be handle small amounts, but it won’t handle it as well as the electric single serve and countertop blenders for protein shakes.
The Tornado Portable Mixer is a handheld blender similar to the Promixx. It’s made of stainless steel so regardless of whether you use it a few times a week or daily it’s sure to last.
The container is 18oz and is also powered by two AAA batteries. The entire unit weighs less than a pound so taking it to the gym is easy.
The Best Countertop Blenders for Protein Shakes
If you’re looking for a blender that can mix batches of protein drinks and a whole lot more, check out Vitamix. It’s not uncommon for smoothie and juice shops to use them as their blender of choice.
You can make everything from mixed drinks to chunky salsas and soups. It comes with a high performance motor that can cut through most anything you put in its way. The variable speed feature allows you more control.
Their blenders are built to last and often come with a pretty generous warranty. Because of the larger price tag you’ll want to make sure you get the most out of it. If you’re only looking for something to mix your shakes you’ll want to look elsewhere.
The Ninja is a great choice if you’re looking for a protein shake blender with a lot more power than the single serve options. It has a lot of the capabilities that the Vitamix offers without nearly as big of a price tag.
This set comes with a 72oz blender with enough room to hold 5-6 servings of your favorite mixed drink. Other attachments include an 8 cup food processor that works great when chopping things up or making thicker, doughy items.
Blenders this size definitely aren’t meant to move around a lot. It weighs just under 16 pounds and will take up more space than other less powerful blenders.
This Ninja system also comes with a few single serve attachments for when you do have to take your shakes on the go.

Why you need a blender for protein shakes
As you can see, the recipes above look AWESOME but if you aren’t using a blender for your protein shakes they’re going to be difficult to make. With all of the ice, frozen fruit, etc. you’re not going to get the right consistency or mix everything well if you aren’t using a blender to do the heavy lifting.
